The Developmental Impact of Scholasticism Essay examples

Scholasticism, which experienced its height around 1250, was the conjunction of faith and reason directed toward understanding the contradictions in the bible and Church teachings. The goal was to strengthen the Church’s teachings by validating them against argument and critical analysis (at least more critically than previously had been allowed with the sole goal of producing results positive toward the Church.) There were warnings made by Anselm of Canterbury that reason and religious studies don’t blend well since religious studies should be based on faith and not reason. It is important to note that the majority of scholars, philosophers and thinkers were theologians ecclesiastically employed, and that the educational institutions†¦show more content†¦Humanism and its doctrines allowed people to look at the world through inquisitive eyes without fear of losing grace with God. There is an almost natural progression from this point of critical thinking within the confines of Church dogma and independent study and scrutiny turned toward the Church itself and it’s doctrines, and later to the evolution of civic administration and political leaderships ultimately giving birth to the concept of the state. The critical approach to looking at those institutions which society places authority which is validated by a core value of that society began with the Humanism movement, where theologians defended their inquiry into Church doctrine and later on with the Biblical text itself as a process that brought them closer to the truth of belief or when it comes to authority trust. I find this very similar and perhaps a precursor to our American Founding Fathers when they provided freedom of speech, and peaceful dissent against authority invested in our governmental leaders, which has based and shaped our core democratic values. Petrarch believed that there was no separation of rationality and spirituality. William of Occam, a Franciscan monk brought about the end of scholasticism, with the finding that God cannot be understood rationally but only through faith. It leads to lower premiums and higher gains for the buyers and for the sellers. They increase the likelihood of successfully closing the deal. Capturing these advantages would require them to look beyond the financial to understand the challenges ahead associated with the change. The carved out company trades as an independent company. Government owned company to private investors. The reason for prevarication is to increase efficiency, individual share ownerships and revenue for the government. As being a government-owned corporation, would allow more efficient and flexible use of the company’s funds that would help revivalist Japan’s economy, which was recovering from recessions in 1991. Prevarication also prevents corruption and patronage. This can be accomplished by the sale or lease. It can be accomplished by the government selling 100% of an enterprise, or selling 51%, or even by selling a minority stake as long as the private sector is given full managerial control. Another major step in restructuring is the leveraged buyout or leveraged restructuring, it would mean the takeover of a company using the acquired firm’s assets and cash flow to obtain financing. For commercial banks, Lobos are attractive because these financing have large up-front fees. Sony used this method to acquire Metro-Golden-Mayer on September 23, 2004 which is a good deal for the company as a report suggests that they may reach $1 million to $million in 2005. Private Equity of firms or funds is to raise money from investors to invest the money in privately held companies. The sale of AVIVA to a local private equity fund after several strategic buyers balked at taking on the personal computer business. PC sales have been hurt globally by the growing sales of tablet devices. Worldwide shipments have fallen by 13. 5 per cent over the past two years. Private equity firms will then try to improve the financial results and prospects of the company in the hope of reselling the company to another firm or cashing out via an PIP. In short with the sale of AVIVA too private company, Sony is able to use the fund to focus more on their primary core business as they were having problems with competing with personal computers overseas. However the most common method in restructuring is the laying off of workers. As Japan has lots of financial crisis the biggest lay off happen when they offload its PC business and its plans to lay off 5,000 workers by March 2015. This is very common around the world. This is to conscious use of permanent personnel reduction in an attempt to improve management as one of the preferred routes to turning around declining organization by cutting cost and improving organizational performance as a form to cutting cost. When budget is tightened, many managers will start to cut the training budget thinking that training is a luxury it would make their employees more marketable Hereford leaves the company for the better Jobs. However the layoff of workers is made harder with restrictions of the country. Mergers today are the survival of the fittest. Sony Mobile Communications ABA formerly known as Sony Ericson Mobile ABA. Sample on Most Prevalent Social Issues in Saudi Arabia

Question: Discuss about the article for Most Prevalent Social Problems In Saudi Arabia? Answer: I was born in UAE (United Arab Emirates) where the people have modernized. The effect of the western culture on the society and people has helped the people of UAE to move ahead as well as the inequalities that used to persist has been almost gone. However, when I was fifteen years old, my family moved to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Once an individual moves from one a country to another, the person faced many issues adjusting in the new environment. However, KSA and UAE hails from the Middle East, yet many differences can be felt in the culture and society. I too faced many difficulties in making friends and understanding the people in the KSA. However, I decided to study the people in KSA and understand their behavior as I did not get the time to study the people in KSA earlier. I was able to study the people of KSA from various perspectives as to support my family had to work in different fields. When in the final year of high school I worked as a security man. After I passed high school, I took up the job of a merchandiser in a cold store and I continued the job for three years. Currently I m working in the Ministry of Interior and my location is the countryside of Saudi Arabia. While I took up the job in the countryside, I got to know more about the social problems in Saudi Arabia. Poverty and family disorganization are the main issues. In addition to this, the women are not treated equally in the country. Hence, I thought of studying bachelors of sociology to understand the problems in a better manner. I found that, there are people who are do not belong to Saudi Arabia, yet they are staying in the country as refugees (Al-Nasser, 2015). The conditions of these people are not right and the problems that they face while staying in a country without any nation is the financial problems. When I referred to (Country-facts.findthedata.com, 2016), I found that, the population of Saudi Arabia is calculated to be 27,345,986. According to the data collected by UN in the year, 2013, the immigrants take up to 30% of the population of Saudi Arabia. (AlNamlah, 2016) Moving on to social problems I found that there is a huge difference in the way the women and the men are treated. Saudi Arabia has a patriarchal society and the works of the women is not being appreciated Saudi Arabia. There are ample of opportunities in KSA, the women are not allowed to take part in the elections and are not allowed to take up certain subjects like chemistry and biology in schools (Cdhr.info, 2016). I felt sad to see that the girls are not allowed to take part in sports and the women would have to sit in the back seats of the bus even if the bus is empty. The saddest part is that a woman cannot complain against a man who has sexually assaulted her. Even if she does so, she took take with her four witnesses. The witness of a woman is considered to be half of a man. Such conditions in a country in the 21st century do not let the country to develop properly and the education of the women is also not complete. Hence, I understood that the discrimination among the male and the female gives rise to problems in the family as the women are not educated to take important decisions in the family. The male members are the ones who are given the right to decide the marriages in the family (Fitch, 2015). Saudi Arabia is not considerate for the people from foreign lands and the foreign workers and the minorities in the countries are not given the legal rights and protection that are available for the citizens in the country. I too faced many issues while I was doing the job of the security man. The groups are minorities in the country from the religion point of view like the Christians, Hindus, Shia Muslims and Jews are not given the equal rights that the other citizen enjoy in the country (Indexmundi.com, 2016). The discrimination can be seen among the religious minorities as far as education is concerned (Al-Nasser, 2015). While I worked as a merchandiser, I found that the religious minorities are not allowed to practice their religion openly as per the rule of the country. The discrimination goes to such an extent that non-Wahhabi Sunni Muslims are also discriminated in the country. The workers in the country are hugely exploited as the government of Saudi does not have any minimum wage for labors in the country. Hence, it is up to the county to decide the minimum age without answering the government. As a security man, I used to get very less salary with which was unable support family the way I should. In addition to this, the workers are not given the right to organize any strike if the employer indulges in unethical acts or takes any illegal decision against the workers of the organizations. Hence, the poor population are continued to being exploited in the country. Eventually, the social problems affected the economic conditions of the country (Musad Alanazi Lone, 2015). The king who is presently ruling KSA started his journey with social unrests and economic problems. The oil prices are decreasing at a steep rate and the country is finding it tough to face the terrorist attacks in the country. The unemployment rate in the country is also due to the social unrest in the country. The main reason behind of the downfall of the economy of the country is that the country is heavily depended on the oil industry for the revenue. Most of the youth work in the oil industry and remaining are searching for jobs (Saudiembassy.net, 2016). Hence, once the oil industry gets affected, it hugely affects the economy of the country. As a result, I chose the jobs that is not directly related to the oil industry. There is a tough completion to land up a job in the oil industry. Moreover, it has been discussed that the women in the country are not given the same pl atform as the male members, hence, the even if the women try their hands in jobs, and they are being restricted from any good job in the country. Thus, a huge pool of talent that can be available for the country is wasted as the women are allowed to work in the country. The male populations are taught from childhood that they are more powerful than women. They also grow up seeing that oil is the main source of income for the family. Hence, they become more laidback at work and indulge in discriminating the women. All the factors together contribute for the problems in Saudi Arabia and the disorganization of family. As a foreign individual, I found it difficult to adjust in the country, as the foreign workers are not given the same respects and rights that the citizens of the Saudi Arabia enjoy. Thus, I found that social problems in Saudi Arabia have its roots from the wrong education and the growing social problems in the country. The country always lives under the fear of terrorist attack and overtly depended on the oil industry. The immigrants constitute 30% of the population and hence, it is an extra burden for the country. The women are also treated badly in KSA. To study get an in-depth view of the people in the country, I thought of taking up Bachelors of Sociology as a major course of study. References: AlNamlah, L.
